use micropoll.com or some other flash based polling thing. You are right that there is no reason the poll should be a pain in the ass 
@ioi - I'm suprised you are doing the countdown timer, but only because you've already said you put them out as soon as you get them. Have you gained that much superior skills that you now know the future
