It will never happen because they don't want to ruin the franchise like that. Zelda has already built itself up as a series that's recognizable for what it is. Most people won't stand such changes and I would be on of those who would stop playing Zelda if the game had such a dramatic turnaround. Not only that but Nintendo's image will be very badly tainted as they would be seen as the company that ruined one of the best franchises in gaming.
If it was a spin-off, then maybe, but even then I'd say no. Main Zelda's have to be oriented into the adventure genre, rather than the dinasty warriors senseless button mashing or fighting games like Soul Calibur. It's about exploration, interaction and simple but strategic combat. TP was a step in the wrong direction and they know it. If they stumble this time I will not play another Zelda game in my entire life.
