They needed a Zelda trailer, one that would show what the Wii is capable of and would put Oblivion's graphics to shame, not some concept art that was shown behind closed doors.
EDIT: As much as I like the prospect of a new Metroid and SMG2, I really didn't care about either all that much. Fan(boy)s like me want Zelda.
