@JUG: That's why it's only a dream. This game will mostly sell to collectors who are big fans of Metroid, or to those who missed the 3rd game and heard this announcement before buying it. But I doubt many people will buy the same games all over again, look at NPC Pikmin, supposedly has a big fanbase but not many were eager to buy it again. And it's not like Metroid Prime will become a cultural phenomenom all of a sudden if the 3rd game isn't even 2 years old yet and sales are almost negligible at this point. Not even with all the ads in the World, since the games have been available for a long time and the ones who wanted them already probably have them.
It's not even supposed to be a big seller, as it wasn't even mentioned at E3 or at their reports. It's just an extra incentive for those who wanted the NPC series (which are a small minority) and to justify their existance. We know for a fact no NPC was even remotely big in the US, save for Mario Tennis, but Mario is Mario and even then it sold very poorly for a Mario Sports game.
