my HD tv actually looked worse due to a poor upscaling (looked pixilated). However, my parents Sony looks much better.
Also, so long as the shielding is good it doesn't matter what you buy for cables. I bought a set for $5 and they work like a charm. Don't be fooled into thinking 1 set of cables is actually any better than another. (the only exception is comparing trash that flat out doesn't work to any cable that actually works)
