I'm making you out to be a self-described "hardcore gamer" whose taste in games appears to be driven more by the endocrine system than by the nervous, because that is exactly and precisely the attitude you are projecting.
How are you supposed to take it seriously, you ask? The same way you take any other game seriously, and perhaps more to the point, the same way you took games seriously before you got so attached to something indistinguishable from hormone-driven narcissism.
Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
