If someone writes an emulator they can do the extra work to interpret the data stream from the controller however they want and get full motion/IR/peripheral support. No one has really written proper drivers for the Wii Remote (that I have seen) so most uses you may find may not support everything. Now, I'm not saying whoever wrote the emulators did a good job, but there is nothing stopping them. Odds are the emulators suck and don't directly support the controllers like they would need to.

I would bet in the future someone will finish out an emulator that properly supports everything, but there is a good chance that one doesn't exist now.

Now, as for why having the emulator if you can't play the game. Some people like to pirate whatever they can and refuse to pay for anything. I've seen some reports on what individual users pirated and some of the cases are ridiculous as the person would never have the free time to enjoy even half the content they pirated.

As for myself, I have no use for an emulator since I have a Wii and get no benefits from using one and even if I didn't have a Wii I'd rather not pirate the games. So I really can't contribute much to this thread other then theoretical speculation.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
