Such an important part of the Wii should have been launched with many more games, not just sports compilations. This way, mainly only people interested in Wii Sports were the target audience for this launch, while interest and momentum are in risk of disappearing by next year because there are no games coming up that support it that Japanese gamers are interested in.
It's not a peripheral, it's a better Wiimote, but Nintendo managed to minimize its impact by having no games for a broader audience. At least a new IP and a core IP should have been ready for the launch. This was Red Ocean strategy at its best.
