He was probably just trolling, but I can't help but think that your opinion is just as subjective as his is on this one. Some people think the Wii has an amazing library. Some people don't. It's all a matter of preference. Does the Wii have a large appeal to casual gamers? Yes. Is that a bad thing? Not as long as they continue to release great core games at the same time and making seemingly casual games more appealing to gamers then it's all fine in my opinion at least. |
Anyone who says there aren't enough good games on a console to own it are either ignorant, trolling, or they are so picky that they can't find anything and I would hardly call them a gamer. I can tell you I generally don't like the main games on X360 (Halo, Gears), but there are more than enough games to warrant a purchase if I had the time and extra money. I have 3 systems now (Wii, DS, PS3), and I go through periods of not playing at least 1 every once in a while. So yes, my opinion of Nintendo being THE best is subjective, they are definitely one of the best and you can't really argue with that.
Now, the fact that "casuals" mostly buy Wii has no merit on the quality of the system and games, as the PS2/PS1 were both the "casual" systems and had the majority of the crapware, but they had plenty of good games too. Even if I never bought a PS1 and didn't get a PS2 till late in its life cycle I'd still acknowledge that they have plenty of great games.
