1. I'm not sure I get your point here. Is he talking about that good will program with what UMDs might become playable or what? Because if he isn't, then I will simply be left confused here

2. Actually, Sony could very well be testing the waters for the PSP2. If people are willing to get the PSP Go! and by software with it, then it might be a viable option for the PSP2 to be purely DD, which I think is what Sony want to find out.

3. UMDs are also noisy in the drive, use a lot of battery power, the moving parts in the drive means the PSP is at a greater risk of hardware failure and you have to carry your UMDs around with you, if you want to change game on the go. All of this has been solved with the PSP Go!

4. I don't know if it is or not, but why should Sony stop putting old UMD games up on the store once the Go! releases? If I were Sony, I would wait until we were closer to the release of the Go! to start putting all these games up, so that they are more fresh in mind for people, and I would also make sure to have something new from week to week.

1. you are correct in that assumption. That was to ensure you knew that a good chuck of your UMD games will not be transferable, even if the program takes place. I guess I was referring to that other person though, not you.

2. True, but then they wouldn't have made the thing so damn pricey! It's simply not the same situation as this thing being a new handheld. If they wanted a true projection, 150$ price tag would be perfect. This thing will B-O-M-B, B_E_L_I_E_V_E.

3. Okay, now you are just cherry picking here. The noise is there, but it's not ruining for the handheld. All of the other stuff you said doesn't even excuse the lack of the OPTION for the UMD drive. Which one would you rather have? the entire library, or those little qualms?

4. I never said that. lol.

1. Fair enough

2. I think Sony are pretty aware about who is interested in this thing, and I think they will score some cash by having it at this price tag until the holidays are over, and then they will probably do a price cut. And I agree, $150 would have been awesome, but I think Sony are perfectly aware of what they are doing here, since they're still selling the 3000. If they had taken the 3000 off the market, then I would have agreed that the Go! was a stupid move, but the way things have been set up now, I think it's quite good.

3. My point was that the UMD drive is by no means all that good to have, and I would in fact much rather have all my games on the HDD. The lack of the UMD drive could in fact also mean an increased battery life and since all your games will be running off a the internal memory, they'll load faster.

4. I know you didn't, I'm just saying that we don't know what Sony are going to do with regards to putting all these games up on the store. And I don't mind if the full library wont come online, the PSP does have its shovelware and its old iteration sport games, and as long as Sony are just putting up the good stuff, then I am fine.

Also, someone said that the Dualshock 3 was bluetooth, which got me thinking. I think Sony could be planning for easy connection of a DS3 to your PSP Go! for all those people who would like to play with a second analog stick.
