Actually, they are wrong about not enough slots.
Blue-tooth supports 8 devices in a group, with the Wii taking 1 spot that leaves room for 7 controllers. The Balance Board displays on the 4th controller channel, and uses one of the undisplayed channels. The Wii only displays four channels, and if you have 2 Wii Remotes, and 2 Balance Boards, you can display all four of them, and you only have 6 channels used out of the 7 available.
