as an interesting note, even though the Wii only had 1 release in 09 that sold >100k, it has managed to sell about the same amount of software overall as the PS3. While not impressive for the Wii (as the install base is much larger) it still shows that the software is selling.
If you look at all games (not just 09 releases) that sold over 100k in 09 you get this picture
Wii = 8
PS3 = 9
X360 = 2
DS = 18
PSP = 7
overall, the PS3 is performing very well mostly on the back of new releases, while the DS is just a software beast with both new and old games alike.
edit: now if only they released some decent Wii games in japan it could pick up some more.
