Although for other games the calibration could be a hindrance, in a tennis game sounds logical. The calibration is like when your getting ready for the point.
About a new Wiimote: Would Nintendo wan't to make one with M+ added in it? If they did that, early adopters could feel cheated, thinking that the technology should have been in the controller from the beginning.
