They treated consumers like they were ignorants, that's the truth. And 3rd parties craped on the Wii this whole time. If Nintendo knew 3rd parties weren't going to release shit, why the hell didnt they step up and at least try to fill the gaps with some decent software. You cant sell a console with 6 year old ports, no.
Lack of planning and vision caused this. I still have my doubts know about WSR, in 3 months the situation could be catastrophic for the Wii.
