The ethernet port thing is definitely one of those "why the hell not?" things that went on with the Wii, probably the most significant feature that they could have painlessly added, but didn't (even more so than DVD playback, which we know at least costs a licensing fee) |
granted these are semi stupid reasons but
1) size
2) they thought that the average consumer would rather do the simple setup of Wireless (which isn't so simple to some people, especially if they set up any security)
