Just a quick update on the worldwide marketshare (April 9, 2007) before games like Guitar Hero 360 and Paper Mario begin affecting things.

 

Total Hardware sold: 19.41 million

Worldwide Marketshare (4/9/07) 

Xbox 360 - 49.87% (The dip below majority status has occured with the Euro adjusted data)

Wii - 33.90% (Continued big gains in Japan)

PS3 - 16.23% (likely 1st in Europe in sales at the moment, 2nd in Japan leading to gain in marketshare)

Japanese Marketshare (4/9/07)

Wii - 63%

PS3 - 26%

360 - 11% 

 Others Marketshare (4/9/07)

360 ~ 54.33%

Wii ~ 30.33%

PS3 ~ 15.33%

 Americas (4/9/07 - 10 days pre March NPD)

360 - 60%

Wii - 26%

PS3 - 14%

(Best Market for each console from strongest to weakest - 360 - Americas, Others, Japan Wii - Japan, Others, Americas, PS3 - Japan, Others, Americas)  

At the moment, Microsoft and Nintendo are roughly as strong as each other in the US & Japan (by %)

By the end of the year I expect total hardware sold to equal 43 million with the breakdown as follows:

Wii ~ 44.5%

360  ~ 35%

PS3  ~ 20.5%
