Costs wouldn't drop by much. Maybe 5-7$ per console. I bet they put a bigger heat sink in there which would eat up some money they save on not having a fan.
The CPU and GPU were already very cheap for Nintendo to buy. That's why we haven't seen any changes yet. They might want to save that 5-7$ though to keep the yen from eating at their profit.
Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.
