the first question I ask myself, is do I seriously think Sega would ship 1m copies. The answer is no, I don't. That is why I don't think 1m copies is possible. Even if the Nintendo population wanted to buy 1m copies, I really can not believe that Sega would do it in the first week.
As said in other posts, you should have gone for like 200-300k and lots of people would have still called your bet stupid, but you would have had a much better chance of being right. I'd love to see myself proven wrong, but 1m copies is a lot for a single week. Killzone 2 (last super hyped game that comes to mind) didn't even break 1m, even though 1m was a lot more realistic for that game (I had it at 1-1.25m first week)
