Well the numbers are in, and I have to say I am surprised... KZ2 lifetime will easily outsell HW... that is impressive :o It seems that the Halo name is not as huge as I thaught it would be... at least not in other genres outside FPSs...

IMO the real question is if releasing HW hurt the future sales of H3: ODST... maybe some casual Halo players wont try again, seeing that they burnt their hands with HW...

No, what makes you think casuals even bought this? its not as if it sold anywhere close to Halo 3's 3.8 million first week.

and Halo Wars>Killzone in America which what the OP was talking about.

The game did 600k first week worldwide... I doubt that all of them where hardcore gamers.... and lets be honest its obvious that many of those copies where not sold because its the RTS of this generation but because it has the Halo name tacked on it...

Im glad that they finally departed from the FPS genre, but lets be honest, sales wise, it might not have been the best decision ;) It could only hurt the IPs selling and hardware moving power in the longrun, and IMO a more conservative 3rd person shooter aproach ( GeOW style ) would have been a better decision...
