Games are always released on a Friday in the UK (unless a really special occasion like World of Warcraft), so if the date is anything other than a Friday, then I wouldn't ever take the date seriously. Should be a general rule of thumb for everybody. |
June 9th is a Tuesday, and in the US it isn't nearly as strict as in the UK. Games typically release on Tuesday, but it isn't uncommon to see games released on Monday or Wednesday. On some special occasions games release on Sunday (MKWii was the last one I remember being on a Sunday)
However, I still haven't seen a press release stating anything other than being available in the spring, which June is in the summer.
