Anyway, The North just tends IMO to be less ... vocal ... about faith.

And it seems plausible that more people hate atheists or admit to it because it's more accepted to do so, but the hate isn't as strong as it is against gays, etc.

 

No I was serious. Most of the hipster kids I hang out with are agnostic or atheist and if they do happen to be christian, and actually bring up religion/jesus whatever in conversation they get labeled as a religious nutcase behind their back. So yeah there are christians, but the crazy bible-belt style ones are very very few in number.
