It doesn't really mean anything to increasing the userbase though. We've seen this before, when the market was pushing for a 360 price cut, and what we got was effectively a price hike with the release of the Elite SKU. If I remember correctly, that only managed to increase sales by a little.

 

If I;m right Sony isnt aiming at an increase of marketshare with the 160GB SKU, they are aiming at $$$. The 80GB SKU is there for marketshare. I believe Sony isnt going to be shipping a massive amount of 160GB SKUs.

If Sony can make a profit this Christmas they can afford tio drop the price sometime in 2009.
