One of Sony's best studios, and Sony's best second party developer. Crash, Spyro, Ratchet, Jak, Resistance, Uncharted.

However, two of those series are practically dead- they've been given to other developers. So I'll cross them out.

Insomniac has been very dutiful in giving us not only a full Ratchet and Clank game, but also a downloadable one, and two games from their new series, Resistance.

Now, look at Naughty Dog. We haven't seen anything from the Jak and Daxter series yet, and only one game from their new franchise, Uncharted.

Both studios, as I mentioned, abandoned a series on the switch to PS2. Insomniac dumped Spyro (it never did that well, though) and Naughty Dog dumped Crash (what was then one of the best series around). They both started anew, Insomniac with the highly acclaimed Ratchet and Clank, Naughty Dog with the almost-as-highly-acclaimed Jak and Daxter.

I'm getting worried here. Are Naughty Dog going to dump Jak like they did Crash, and focus on their new series? I'd hate to see Jak destroyed by another developer like Crash and, to a certain extent, Spyro, were. Will Insomniac follow suit and dump Ratchet? That's a lot less likely, since they've already made an R&C (two I suppose) this gen. But Naughty Dog could well sell the rights to Jak.

I certainly hope not.
