well i think it is obvious why the 360 can not out sell the ps2, people are cheap. the ps2 can be bought for 99 dollars new if you know where to look, then go pick up used games. Even the new games left for it are cheaper than new 360/ps3 games. I think this has actually been one of the bigger sticking points for people, 49.99 is a barrier in America, and seeing that new games on a system are 59.99 or more, drives people away from it. I think this will continue through this christmas into next summer when perennial big names will not appear on either the xbox/ps2. Though depending on how well madden sells i could be persuaded its already become a non-issue. I think its sad, but madden is like a litmus test for the console community. I miss the espn 2k series.
