Mario Kart Wii has sold 8.24m units in 25 weeks. Mario Kart DS took ~103 weeks to achieve this. Nintendogs took ~76 weeks to achieve this.

Mario Kart wii has the potential to break 17m units at week 150. And if it continues to outpace Nintendogs (which would be tough) it could break 20m total sales.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
