@akuma: Definitley, the game would have been more succesful if it had Mario as the main character as he is very well known in every region of the World. This as a new IP, should have had a proper ad campaign and more info to create hype, like LBP is doing in Japan.
Mario would have never been used in such a game because that would destroy Nintendos image and kill the Mario franchise.
