Microsoft if you could get a console exclusive version of WoW, just imagine what that would do for your sales.

Blizzard won't do that. They are one of the very few pc gaming devs that have mac versions available the day the pc version releases... if they develop a wow console client it'll be ps3/360 - and the only reason it won't be on the wii will be available storage.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

where can we see the spin?? are there no press releases?

There is an Age of Conan in the making for the 360. It's no WoW but it will at least test the ground for anything bigger (if it doesn't flop instantly).

Currently playing on PS3: God of War III

Currently playing on Xbox360: Final Fantasy XIII

Currently playing on NDS: Chrono Trigger

Hehe karma is a bitch huh Dinomax?

Your sarcasm meter's so broken I think you'll just have to shell out for a new one.

But from extensive firsthand experience, I can tell you that karma is, indeed, a b****.

I figure Wii will have 3,000 games or so. For pretty much anyone, no matter their taste, you have to figure 2700 will be horseshit - games the person would never even consider buying. 300 will be good out of the 3000, 100 great out of the 300 good, probably 35 stellar /incredible/revolutionary out of the 100 to any given customer. The average tie ratio is going to somewhere between 5 and 8 for Wii owners at the end of the day, so having 35 stellar games, and 300 good games is more than enough selection.

There are like 400 Wii games now right? So using the same ratio, 360 horseshit, 40 good, 13 great out of the 40 good, and probably 5 stellar (Galaxy, Zack & Wiki, Wii Sports, Wii Fit, and Brawl I would argue, though sales trends would suggest GHIII is probably the most deserving 3rd party game on Wii) out of the 40 good games. The tie ratio worldwide is about 6.7 games for the average Wii owner right now, so it seems about right to me. It basically comes down to people picking up half the games that are great at the moment

I think thats about where Wii is today. For those people who buy 10 games a year, Wii Ware, backwards compatability, and the Virtual Console are an attempt to fill in the gaps until Wii gets to ~1000 games which will be the point where it has enough 'good' games to satisfy even the most picky gamer.

You can say what you want about Wii having shovelware, but something like the N64 had only 300 games, and 240 were still pretty crappy. So yeah, you tend to get higher quality on consoles with less games (maybe 20% of the games are good instead of 10%) but so much more is released on the systems with shovelware that the ratio becomes overwhelming. Second place systems I think tend to get the highest non crap: crap ratio because the crap goes on the biggest base, but you don't want to put your best stuff on the smallest base. I think thats why Microsoft always touts its lineup, as I could make a pretty solid argument that Genesis, N64, Xbox etc had less crappy software than the SNES, PS1, PS2 despite having less quality software too.

The attach ratio is already over 6 games per system, not including Wii Sports.... it will exceed 8 easily.

The PS2 ratio at this time in it's life was about 5.5 games per system, (and it didn't have Wii SPorts to take out) and has managed to exceed a ~10 ratio now.

precisely.  I'm not sure Blizzard would even develope a console game this gen or even ever.  They have bought console developers, organized teams, destructed teams, reorganized teams, "hinted" at console ports/releases and still have nothing to show for the console arena.  They are fairly random and secretive however, so they could surprise us.  D3 port was the last rumor that surfaced with blizzard in the console world.

On the note of MMO's and consoles, you have to wonder if it would even be a good idea to begin with.  Most people who play MMO's do so on a PC and most people interested in them have a PC.  Considering their is a larger audience in PC land, PC remains the target audience. It's also about a billion times easier to support on PC.  Lastly, could you imagine playing a consoled version of WoW without a keyboard and a mouse with at least 10 programable buttons?  The only console that comes close to offering this is the PS3.  Console blizzard style MMO's would not be a good idea, but again it could surprise.

According to that link, if we compare the strongest month of each console so far between PS2 and Wii, Wii is already ahead of the PS2. It has 8 months vs 4 for the PS2.

Here's the comparison, with the strongest month during their Lifetime:

Jan: Wii 436k - PS2 490k
Feb: Wii 432k - PS2 530k
Mar: Wii 721k - PS2 500k
Apr: Wii 714k - PS2 330k
May: Wii 675k - PS2 490k
Jun: Wii 667k - PS2 690k
Jul: Wii 555k - PS2 440k
Aug: Wii 453k - PS2 450k
Sep: Wii 687k - PS2 540k
Oct: Wii 803k - PS2 500k
Nov Wii 2004k - PS2 1300k
Dec: Wii 1350k - PS2 2700k

So far PS2 has had a better Jan, Feb, Jun and Dec than the Wii. Though Wii could have a beastly December and surpass the 2700k the PS2 achieved.

January and February will be the toughest months for the Wii to surpass the PS2, simply because they are the months where supply is almost inexistant due to the holiday sellouts which include shipments from this months. February may be a given next year because of the upped production, but January won't happen.

As for June it will be easily achieved next year because of the increased production. Of course Wii will surpass its own and set more records next year with more production available.

wow, that was very interesting.

I think the Wii will go 1, 2, 3 and set the records. With 2 million Wiis sold in Nov, 3 seems like the bare minimum, and that would be enough. Last year the Wii was only 60 short of the PS2 in Jan, and last year the Wii had like negative supply...lol. Febuary like you said should fall. June? Who knows... to far away to call.  PS2 must have had a pricecut the year it did 700k, that is quite beasty.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

DS and Wii vominate again.
