Forums - Sports Discussion - The NFL Thread 2014: New England Patriots Win Super Bowl XLIX

Who will win the Super Bowl?

Who cares? 41 36.61%

That AFC team. 29 25.89%

That NFC team. 5 4.46%

Hahaha, not the Packers! 25 22.32%

See Results. 9 8.04%

Total:109

That is certainly true. However, we know that every team has it's ups and downs. A bad performance from NE and a top performance from GB would have been a GB victory even at a neutral field. The Seahawks played like complete shit, and yet were a single play away from victory. Hence the point that both teams significantly underperformed from their usual output. NE and Seattle have been great most of the time, but not in that game.

I kind of agree to be honest. I think we might see something kind of like the recent Giants teams, somebody creeping up from the WC weekend to take it all down.

If I had to pick a surprise contender from the WC round or earlier to win the Super Bowl, I'd go with Arizona. Provided Carson Palmer can stay healthy, the offense is decent enough to keep them in most games and their defense is quite good.

It's Buffalo's year!

Nope not with Kyle Orton as qb.  The only wildcard team in the AFC that I could see it winning it all is the Ravens.  But they might improve enough in the upcoming season to actually get one of the top two spots in the playoffs and not play during the wildcard weekend.

Well not with EJ Manuel either they still don't have a legit starting quaterback.

Yeah, my guess is that qb will be their first pick in the draft, they might even trade up for it.  A good franchise qb is really all buffalo needs to be a legit contender...

Too bad that the current QB class is supposedly unimpressive. There's a good chance that Buffalo's strong defense will fade away before the team gets a rocksolid man at QB.

Yeah, I remember last year there was a bunch of qbs in the draft generating buzz, this year I have only heard of Winston and Mariota...

Rex Ryan took Mark Sanchez to the Championship game, twice. Surely that means he can get EJ Manuel into the "over .500" land!
