The old-school, retro days of gaming. It was also it's golden age.

This generation is by far the best, compare a ps3/360 to a ps1 or N64 and you will see just how much gaming has improved since then, I have also LOVED the games this generation, also by far the best of any generation.

SNES era was the best.

But the 90s in general are simply never going to be topped.

2005 - now

I have enjoyed gaming mor this gen than ever before.

Although I miss nostalgic experiences from the past

Once I take nostalgia goggles off its clear that I enjoy the games made this gen more than any other gen, thanks to Ps3 & DS.

I liked the 1996-2001 Era the most because it was when the gaming industry saw so many games that would be considered masterpieces today. I also like that era because it was the introduction of games running a CDs. My favorite games of that era were Smash Bros and Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time.

1996-2001

So many good games on PS1, PC and N64. 3D was only just taking off and developers were exploring how to make games in 3D space and making them more and more cinematic. The first 3D Zelda and Mario games plus many franchises were introduced this gen. A lot of the games in the last 2 gens are due to refinement of games of this generation. Games of the gen:
