Forums - Sony Discussion - Why Sony should leave the video game hardware business

Better MS than Sony. While I hate Sony's PR arrogance, the inability to create things by themselves, and their marketing, I have to say that I prefer the way Sony made/makes the videogame industry evolve than M$.

If you prove to be right, you can be sure M$ will turn this into a monopoly. And we all see what's happening with Window$ : consumer will be given the right to buy its own vaseline.

We don't need another anti-sony thread from a xbox 360 fanboy. Someone please close this thread.

Anyone that goes into a forum dedicated to a particular console and asks members for reasons why the manufacturer of that console should get out of the video game business is trolling.

How did this thread get to 5 pages without a mod noticing it? It's been reported.

So you come here on a vendetta because of this thread? http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=97673

You could easily get yourself banned under what you said. http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/post.php?id=3041353

That's right, just one "d"

In b4 "it's addict"

Add me:

Sega and SNK were never as big as Playstation. Sony have already invested a lot of money into merging PSN with other products and as far as they're concerned, Playstation is a good way to show off hardware and win format wars etc.

So on the opposite argument then....Microsoft studios could just as easily develop for the Cell this late in the generation...and with the EyeToy's Wand upgrade in a few months, Nintendo could develop for that without too many issues I bet...so why not only have the one console and let all the games be developed for that, and that one console'd be the Ps3

That is missing the point of PC and Xbox 360 development being much more similar.  Also does it make sense for you to drop the cheaper alternative for a costlier one when the point is to keep development costs down?

As much as I dislike Microsoft's unreliable console and nickel and diming business practices, I don't want them out of the console market, because it creates healthy competition.

Keep on topic.

instead of sony leaving the business i vote for some users to leave this subject because if it didn't make any sense in the beginning of this gen... now that they are way stronger they should leave? leave your self from your house and see the real world... it will be good to you... vitamin D is very important!

If you don't want to add to the conversation then leave this thread.  Ignoring the problem isn't what this thread is about.

Don't really understand where this came from....seems like someone's sad he won't get to see Toby Maguire in his skin-tight uniform

I typed out exactly the points of where this is coming from.  You seem to want to ignore those points and try to personally insult me like some others.  If you don't wish to be mature then leave this thread.  The same goes for everyone else reading this.

lol.....oh there is definitely a problem. Any gamer that wants to see a company supporting games and providing games leave the industry doesn't really like gaming.

Where did I say I wanted them to leave the software side?  I even mentioned Gran Turismo and Killzone 2 in my original post.
