Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I have lost faith in the Wii and its future

I do accept that its not for everyone, and I never said I didn't but nice strawman.

The difference between what we are talking about and someone who simply doesn't like the console is your need to find ways to bring it up or mention it in your posts. I won't say all of your posts but a very large number of them are bizarre in the way you basically try to work your way towards justifying your wii bashing. Your fixation and hatred for the Wii is kind of disturbing really and you should probably try to focus more on what you do care about rather than what you dislike.

edit: Hell look at your most recent post here:

Apparently you only enjoy the Wii when drunk.
Believe all games maneuver horribly and have no replayability unless drunk.
Think games all lack substance and have bad controls.

Then how come you and others have brought up bad things about the PS3 in here? Is it because you simply do not like the console for one frivilous reason or another just to bash it? You have assumed incorrectly that the majority (large number) of my posts are slams against the Wii. They really aren't. I did admit that the bowling was fun and a couple other mini-games, but they don't make me want to rush home to play one or even drop $250 on one. I don't hate the Wii, it's more that I don't care much for the fanboys of Nintendo who go out of their way to bash the PS3 or even 360.

Your hatred towards Sony is rather disturbing. It's almost like Sony robbed your house, raped your dog, tickled your mother, and tied your dad up to the bannister and made him watch a marathon of Spiderman 3 for 24 hours.

I had two beers while watching a movie beforehand, and then played the Wii, so no I wasn't drunk but would have probably enjoyed it more if I was just a lil bit toasted. From what I have played, they do manuever poorly and other then in a party type situation I really could care less about playing it again. There are many games out there that lack substance and have poor control schemes. It's not just on the Wii, but on all consoles that have clunky control schemes (For some games), but for the Wii it seems it's more dependant on the controller and not the game developers.

my dad was in china when the japanese invaded china in WWII, so he has a serious hatred towards most things japanese.  of all the companies, the one he hated the most was sony.  my mom was gonna buy a sony laptop, but my dad got so furious about it that she got a macbook instead.  also, he got a samsung flat panel instead of a sony bravia, even though he knows sony makes higher quality TVs.

he also has a problem towards Toyota, but apparently he forgets that Nintendo is also a japanese company.  or maybe he thinks it's "just a video game company".

the Wii is an epidemic.

Hawk, I wish there was another game I could have tried that may have had better controls. I was over at a girls house and she just bought the system a couple weeks ago. So that was all she had and therefore all I had to go by. If she picks up those other games I'll give them a shot and see what I think.

@Sqrl, you may not have but there were many others who did. I'm sure if someone was in the Sony section of this site and said something negative about the Wii that you'd defend the Wii (or at the least, someone else while taking pot shots at Sony). Call me whatever you will, from my experience with the Wii, I cannot say that I'm terribly impressed.

@ onimusha12: I'm done with you. Bringing up whether someone has had a temporary ban or not does not make what I say invalid or wrong. Using that as an argument on why you are right and I'm wrong is quite petty and illogical.

My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

@jjseth - While I agree some of what has been said by Nintendo fans on this site has been ridiculous and belligerent, the percentage of fanboys who either spout off offensive nonsense or half-formed opinions about an industry they know next to nothing about is much higher in the Sony sector than the Nintendo sector. There's been a recent shift in that towards Nintendo's side, partially because there have been some intelligent and engaging Sony fans showing up (thankfully), and partially because there have been some idiotic Nintendo fans (grr). However, even when there's a slight tone of gloating amongst some N fans over PS3 games flopping, it's got nothing on, for example, some of the statements jhlennon made about Zak & Wiki's sales (he was SO HAPPY that it flopped).

There are also a lot of Nintendo fans with a chip on their shoulders towards both Sony and Sony fans because by last generation, the arrogance of both of them had reached uncomfortable levels - much like post-SNES Nintendo and Nintendo fans.

Even if you just skimmed the OP as I did you should have been able to tell it was a fake, the weak logic alone was a dead giveaway

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! I thought the dead giveaway that it was a fake was the name of the poster combined with the thread title.

Well I don't know your posting history that well, however logic in the parts of the post you made seemed very weak to the point of Fakeboyism

Rol and Mr.Stickball: I agree with both of you; I've been having some thoughts around Ninty for some time, but I've been afraid of posting them since there are so many Nintendo fans here, and critique against the Wii is a surefire way to get flamed.
Anyways, here we go:

The Nintendo Wii is a poor choice amidst the HD format war and the explosion not only of HD-TV's in peoples homes, but also peoples interest in technology.
I think we all can agree that people today are very aware of the functionality of their products at home, and they'll soon realize that the Wii does not play DVD's or any HD formats, that the diskspace is too small to fit significant amounts of music on and that it has no online plans/capabilities.
Also, in my personal experience, the Wiimote is not suited for conventional gaming such as racing or beat 'em up's pure rpg's.
In other words; only Wii specific titles appeal on the Wii in terms of controls, and of those, only a handfull are decent or good (everyone knows that the Wii suffers from a very poor gaming library).
And for a total gaming experience, many people want surround sound and dazzling graphics with awesome animations and realistic rendering, which is another thing the Wii is unlikely to deliver with it's sub-par power.

Lastly, the price of the games; we all know that Wii games are very cheap to produce compared to the PS3, the 360 and the PC, but the games themselves in retail stores cost just as much! In fact; here in the Nordic countries, the Wii games are often more expensive than it's competitor's!
Pair this with what has to be a very short life expectancy, and the Wii suddenly looks frail and threatened in the tough console industry.
Like Mr.Stickball said; people asume that Wii sales will continue being this high, or even twice as high! That's just plain ludicrous if you ask me.

I have to admit that I was surprised at Nintendo's initial success, but I've believed all along that it is short lived.

Kind of does separate those know your posting well enough to know a joke when they see it from those who can't though.

I wonder which of those I am...

Yeah, hahaha... I didn't even bother to read the other posts, so I fell for it too. Doesn't matter much, I've spoken my mind and I'll stand for it any day of the week. Besides, most of the users in here allready know that I'm not a big Wii fan.

I guess you'll have to destroy the battery then. But don't worry, they tend to blow up on their own!

Reality has a Nintendo bias.

Ummm, no. Wii is not going to drop. Just watch this xmas.

EDIT: Oh you silly goose. You got me. I thought it might be a fake, especially when you mentioned the two gc taped together.
