If the praise of the other game is done to contrast it with the title of the thread, then the praise makes sense.  And that is what I am doing with Uncharted.  I am not about to end up saying that MGS4 suck (I don't believe it does), just that I believe that Uncharted series is better for a movie experience in a game, and I explained why.  MGS4 is one of the best games of this generation, and one of the finest examples of interactive fiction we have run into, despite its issues I have discussed.  I don't believe it is the "BEST GAME EVER" though, and certainl doesn't dwarf the best of movie making.

WTF happened to my MGS? I played them all and there is a reason it is called "Tactical Espionage Action"...it was supposed to be about sneaking around and avoiding enemies or at least slit the enemy's throat when they don't notice. Instead I found it better if I was to just run and gun and the game just forces me to run and gun half the time. It might as well have just said "Run and Gun Action"...

I'm in the middle of the third Act and I just lost the will to finish the game. Best Game Eva? I don't know...I ain't gonna protest, but I ain't supporting it either...

The game part was great, not the best, but great nonetheless.

Now the 10 hours of shitty movie... that's a whole other story. It utterly ruined MGS4 into the "trash" category for me. Not surprising Kojima can't be a director, this was slightly worse than FF: Spirits Within. He owes me 10 hours worth of money. Also I pray to anything that games don't become like this trash and become their own media so they don't automatically suck.

I've played every MGS game.  I played MGS1 a long time ago, on the PS1, then again a few years later on the PC.  I played MGS3 when I bought my PS3 (summer 2007).  I played MGS2 shortly after that.  I thought MGS3 was the best overall of the series, but I still really liked MGS4 and it's definitely one of my favorite games this generation.

I don't know...I wish I could see the game from your perspective. I could never get any pacing going as the game always changed to something else with each level. But that something else felt like it was a repetition of something else before in the series. I guess I was expecting some cool future warfare stuff and the gameplay to revolve around that...like it did with the jungle and part 3....and while there was some cool stuff like the camo suit, you could just blow through the whole game as you got so much ammo... And thats before I even get in to the story which I thought was lacking of anything cool at best. Where is the humour? MGS games before it were funny...this one was so serious.

The coolest part for me were those intro live action movies...the workout one was so disturbing.

What? It's a fantastic game for all gaming enthusiasts. It's not like PS3 owners deserved the game more than anyone else. Strange wording in your phrase there, so I might got it all wrong.
