Forums - Sony Discussion - After God of War III.....

.....what should Sony Santa Monica work on next? Since God of War's story is end with the release of III, they will be free to work on new IP or visit an old one.

And to answer the people who will say that God of War isn't going to end. Sony has stopped franchise development on successful IP's in the past. Wild Arms, Arc the Lad, Dark Cloud (there hasn't been a new one yet), The Legend of Dragoon, Sypro (Sony stopped, Universal picked it up and ruined it), Crash Bandicoot (Again Sony stopped, Universal picked it up and ruined it), etc.

I'd like to see Santa Monica do Heavenly Sword 2 actually. Bring back Andy Serkis and all actors that would still have characters in the game, possibly someone who worked on the original story. I would love to see what Santa Monica could do with the Heavenly Sword framework of lots of enemies on screen and the hack'n'slash.

I never felt the hack'n'slash in Heavenly Sword was really up to par, so Santa Monica could make it good (just not a GoW clone hopefully), and my only real worry would be that they decide to go the God of War route and turn it into... well... a bloody mess (by which I mean lots of gore ). That wouldn't be cool.

I would love to see the Sixaxis use from the first game return, because those were definitely some of the highlights for me.

remake of gow1 for ps4 :):)

they should work on a hardcore game for motion controller, SONY should support motion controller like microsoft wants to support NATAL

That would be interesting, but personally I would like to see them leave the genre for awhile. Do something new or at least refresh an old IP.

If the genre starts to fall apart (like it was before God of War) then I would like them to come back to the Action/Adventure genre and save it again.

That's just my opinion though.

Kartos son of Kratos.
God of Karts

Crystal Dynamics. they are no longer independent and are part of Square Enix now.

now imagine Kain having a blocklike sword and getting a bike.

Honestly, I think Santa Monica will make whatever they decide to work on, totally awesome. I just consider hack'n'slash to be their thing, which is why I think it fits, but I'm up for whatever really.

Also, playing the Heavenly Sword Sixaxis parts with the Wand could be awesome!

I just had a thought.

Sony Santa Monica making a greek mythology RPG. Something like Dragon Age Origins or Oblivion.
