Forums - Sales Discussion - Natal will put 360 on top for the rest of the generation

Bold statement, ZorroX :) especially since we know bo diddly about Agent so far.

haha, you're evil, kowen :p

I don't find it likely that Natal will put 360 on top of Wii but I do think that out of Natal, Wand and Vitality Sensor, Natal will be the most successful. Microsoft must put a lot of support into it though, otherwise it won't do much.

^Why do you think the vitality sensor is ridiculous, after motion plus and the balance board?

I dont think the vitality sensor is remotley like motion plus or the balance board.   motion plus was an evolution and the balance board was kind of obvious.

The vitality sensor is a gimmick and a rather cumbersome gimmick at that.

The Vitality Sensor thing is really...really complicated.

I can see how you'd think that based on what they've shown so far. Even after the software is available, at best it's gonna be one of these devices that make no sense until you actually have one in your daily life.

Natal will flop and so will Sony wands.

That's my brave prediction.

Agreed. I think both have buckleys chance of changing any standings in this generation.

Personally, I reckon 3d gaming is just as exciting.

No, unless Natal will cost less than 50 pounds, then there is a slim chance.

Also, i think/expect AGENT will move more PS3 HW, than Natal x360 HW during it`s first week of release.

Ohhhhh. I'll take that bet!

you say agent will cause a bigger hardware spike first week than natal?

I said: AGENT will cause a bigger spike, than Natal in it`s first week.

The biggest "problem" I see is Sony getting away with some motion control projects that are also being developed for Natal. Let's say Burnout is being prepared for Natal. I can't imagine it being TOO hard to allowing it to become 'Motion Wanded' as an "in-between step". If that's the case, some audience will be lost to that.

On the other hand, MS is playing it smart by going for a show-off in February, before the wand is being released, probably to get people to think of Natal instead of on the Motion Wand. No matter if it's possible, it should beecome an interesting 2010

It's interesting that you mention that, because indeed the PS3 Wand has more in common with the Wii remote. Outside of maybe PC and 360, the multiplatform nature of these motion controllers will not be very large across the board. Also you have to consider that initially the PS3 Wand and Natal will have a limited install base compared to the regular consoles.

I think we'll probably see it be focused on as a peripheral, with optional use for most games. Once again the true focus and really important driver of these ideas will probably come from first party development initially.

I'd say this is Natal's biggest problem. Microsoft doesn't exactly have the plethora of first and second party studios that Sony or even Nintendo do. I mean, there's Bungie, Epic Games, Lionhead, Rare, Turn 10, Real Time Worlds, Mistwalker, and that's about it.

I didn`t say, AGENT in it`s first week of release will cause a bigger spike, than Natal in it`s first week.
