Forums - Sony Discussion - Who still plays the PS2?

Was just wondering how many people with next-gen systems still play the Ps2? I still play it quite alot, hell I still buy games for it pre-owned & new. It has a special place in my heart it was the 1st gaming machine that got me truly hooked on gaming. Recently I started playing "Bully", X-Files: Resist Or Serve & God Of War (but quickly stopped when I heard about the GOW Collection being Region Free..) With a 9yr Old Machine you'd think that playing it would get old, but thats not the case I still have an absoulte blast when playing it & reminising of the days gone by.

It truly is Daddy of all gaming Machines, Here's to another couple of years.

I'm currently playing only PS2, struggling in a dante must die playthrough in DMC1, and then move on unto the other 2 games.

Sure.  Lately I've been replaying Tales of the Abyss, and Final Fantasy X before that.  I suppose a Suikoden V replay will be in order eventually too.  That's the nice thing about the massive amount of worthwhile games already out there: good games don't stop being good just because it's been a few years since they came out.  Hell, some of the best experiences can still be found on the 8- and 16-bit platforms.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

I've got to start to collect some of the games I didn't get, DMC series is on the list.

I have still my FFX unfinished.   I started it couple of months ago....I will finish it some day. It has been pretty good so far but somehow I just haven't had time or motivation to play it lately. (so many other games unfinished)

Are the Final Fantasy's games worth getting? In your opinion whats the best Final Fantasy you can get on the Ps2?

I still play my PS2 on occasion... in fact I recently picked up R&C 3: Up Your Arsenal and blew through it in a few days... I forgot how awesome that series is!

I've also been using it to play some older PS1 games that I picked up not too long ago. I'm still on disc 1 of FFVII... damn I need to go back and play that game sometime! And I also have a copy of Chrono Cross sitting on my shelf still in shrink wrap... one of these days I'll get to that as well lol.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

All I ever use my PS3 for is PS2 games, so does that count?

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I do. I guess I'll never quit as long as it is alive. Long live the PS2!!!
