Is this an early start of the Christmas rush for Nintendo?

I predict Wii and DS top 2 for the rest of the year now

"...the best way to prepare [to be a programmer] is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written. In my case, I went to the garbage cans at the Computer Science Center and fished out listings of their operating system." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

"Hey, Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

""Windows [n.] - A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.""

Nintendo is going to have a killer holiday season. Wii is still in and people still want to play it.

yes it is, if you take a look at last years sales, this sales week is actually about a week late this year.

Most likely they will be top 2.

However to put things in perspective .

This year :

Wii : 364k

PS3 : 252k

Xbox 360 : 135k

Last year same week :

Wii : 407k

PS3 : 150k

Xbox360 : 199k

If you compare further to last year you will see that November 2009 will most likely be slower than November 2008 for Ninty.

Their main hope right now is to get a better December as December 2008 was supplied constrained ( mainly in the US though).

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

I am glad it happened.

I am just kind of disappointed that the Wii's marketshare went down a bit this week.

However it is down YOY compared to last year

while these sales are good, I would not say more than that

I see the 360 sales as OK even though its down YOY as much as the wii

so I can only say wii sales are good, or I may look inaccurate

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

It could happen. I mean, your prediction.

For me, i also predict the same. Nintendo will dominate the rest of the year.

MY ZELDA COLLECTION

I'm 100% sure that Nintendo will dominate the rest of the year. Therefore it will be hard to do better than last year. When you're doing amazing sales (like Wii last year) it's more difficult to be up YoY and when you're doing bad (like PS3 last year) it's easy to do better.

That's why the YoY numbers doesnt mean anything when you're applying them to different consoles.

Nintendo will dominate the rest of year I don't think anyone can realistically predict anything less.

However November 2009 sales will be lower than November 2008 sales.

On top of that worldwide hardware sales will be lower the week NSMBWii releases in the US than it was the corresponding week in 2008.

December sales in 2009 will be slightly higher than 2008 December sales but won't make up for the slowdown in Wii sales in October/November compared to the previous year...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

its still selling worst that last year, but still its a huge improvement thanks to its price cut.
