Forums - Sony Discussion - Trophies should be even out

Hmm here's an idea. Who cares about trophies.

Trophies are an extra incentive, and they should be more evend out

I love trophies but I would never play a game without having fun. I recently stopped playin Prince of perisa because the gamed sucked imo. I was 2 bronze away from platinum, but who cares? The game was boring and i sold it. I got my red alert 3 platinum yesterday and I more proud of it than anyone with the terminator and hannah montana shit could ever be. my sister can get the terminator platinum trophy, its really no science. But I would never let Terminator come to my gamercard. Its just like paying for platin an 11 gold trophies, and people who need to get platin this way really suck at gaming.

@ player1 )

Agreed. Although I really like trophies I'd never resort to playing crap games just to get the easy trophies, lol.

I'm fine with getting plats for the games I like as long as I have fun doing so :) .

I think the spread is okay, it's what they're for that I don't always get - for example, as you say, there are some bronze that are harder to get than silver, that seems unbalanced.

I guess it's hard to ensure that everyone will find a bronze equally easy and a silver more challenging - after all what I find hard you might find easy, but sometimes the challenge does seem unbalanced to the Trophy value.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Certain games like Hana Montana and Terminator are just rushed titles where developers put no thought into the trophies. You really can't compare them. If someone plays them and enjoys them, nothing wrong with that. Somone plays them just for trophies? They're a whore.

As for what you're saying, I like how it is now. It just seems normal to me that there would be more bronze for anything else... That there would be more gold than Platinum, more silver than gold, more bronze than silver. Why? Simply because it should be able to get more of what's worth less. If they're gonna even it out, just so that people who are playing crap games for trophies won't have an advantage over you, then they might as well not have 3 different kinds of trophies... they should just have one...

4 ≈ One

If u think about it its fair because Gold trophies are worth alot more than Bronze. Bronze trophies are really easy to get where Gold trophies are harder so it makes sense. Reason why Killzone 2 has so many bronze is because it has many dlc trophies and all are bronze and quite easy to get. It all depends on the Developers what trophies they decied to make. Imo if a game has 3 golds then its good.

If u look at Terminator salvation it has 11 golds, if u play on hard and beat the game u will get 11 golds and 1 platinum and it takes like 4-6 hours. In Killzone 2 u get 1 gold for beating the game on Elite, which not easy but after beating the game Killzone 2 on Elite i can that i would be more proud of it than get 11 golds for beating Terminator salvation.

I agree with Tbone. the reason there is more bronze is because they are supposed to be easier. Bronze trophies are meant to be for smaller accomplishments while gold for the harder. Gold trophies should be things that are hard to get, beating the game on hard, 10k kills in resistance 2 etc. bronze is for stuff like pausing the game in Eat Lead.

I do agree on Terminator though, its like the developers just didnt bother with trophies and realized the only way people will play their game is if it has easy trophies/achievments. I also agree that the rock shard trophy should have been at least a silver, as well as several trophies in Bioshock i thought could have been silver. Overall the system is fine as is though

One of the way I felt trophies where sold to me was that you could judge better using the different trophies, to what type of gamer the player was. Mostly bronze, the player only plays casually not going for the harder stuff. More gold the player does all the harder thing in the game to achieve.

This was meant to be better then the gamerscore of bigscore could equal many games, or many achivements in few games.

However most people have X5more bronze then even silver... So the only reason tests of if someone really plays a game thoroughly is if they have the platinum. As games bronze to silver to gold ratio is normally way off to the bronze and a lot of time some of those bronzes can be harder then golds inside the same game, a lot alone between different games.

MS have basically done the same as a platinum by putting any games with 100pc gamer-score at the top.

I feel like trophies and achievements should perhaps be something that pushes the player to do something out of the asking of say the normal games or make the player do something they wouldn't normally do, even if hard then they become fun.

well, I'm not really into trophies, but trophies/achievments are what give games a little more replay value. I usually play the game and get what ever trophies I can. if I decide to play it again then I atleast check what trophies are in my reach or ones that seems cool to have
