now if you were wearing these

so its head tracking would display in these what you would see that would be awesome

If by "awesome" you mean "headache-inducing and severely damaging to the player's eyesight" then I agree, it would be awesome.

You can easily move you head and be focused on the screen at the same time. I this feature will be implemented, you want to move you head a lot. It is like you are turning it for 5 degrees and camera moves for 30 degrees. It could be easily configurable.

Play my LittleBigLove level: search keywords "LittleBigLove realil"

LJ (Russian): http://realill.livejournal.com

it works for that guy in teh vid b/c he is riht next to it, that way it can read his suttle movement and expand them in game

how ever the farther away fromt eh camera you move teh hard it wil lbe to read little movement and the only way for it to register Is by making larger movement tat might require you to really crane your eyes left or right to still be able to see the screen

Not to mention I don’t know of a single person that can sit perfectly still (as in 0 % movement )

There will always be soft tremors moving thru your body and your head is very rarely ever at rest ( it’s a fact of life) so sitting across the room the camera will either have to be so sensitive that it will read every movement and exaggerate it or almost no movement thus making me have to do the majority of it

However this could be great and (VR like) if you combine it with a goggle system so that I look right, the camera reads that, and my goggle show that….win

Or you could move the camera closer to you

The video didn't really track his head movement, it tracked his position. He wasn't just turning his head, but moving it drastically around the room. Also, this is just the PSEye, so forget playing GT5 in the dark or even low light. Gotta turn up the brights, fellas!

If it were "eye" tracking, it'd be useful, but as a head movement tracker it really won't help much since you can only turn your head so far and still see the screen, or if it is like the video, you won't be moving around the room to get a different view out the passenger window.

Well I can move my head and keep my eyes on the screen, but I cant move my eyes to far without going off the screen.  So how would eye tracking be more useful?   Plus if its based on movement relative to the camera, which it looks like it is according to all you would have to do is move the camera a little closer and the movement would be wasier tracked and have a greater impact on what is seen.

I'm confused.... if I'm sat 8ft away from my TV and look right with my head... how do I see the TV screen?

Think of it more like peeking around a corner than actually turning your head.   You would just be changing your perspective.

lol... seriously... its an honest question?

unless you are wearing a headset with monitors in front of your eyes I dont see how it works?

For track ir it works with you wearing reference points, in a hat, in a headset or stuck in your forehead, then translates your movement into the screen at a higher ratio, say you move 10º, it moves 25º on screen.  In the console, PSeye should take the same references in your face, or even use a reflective reference like track ir does, which also helps in low light conditions.

For distance I don't see how it would be difficult to configurate, or like someone said above too, just put the camera closer to you.
