unless you are wearing a headset with monitors in front of your eyes I dont see how it works?

For track ir it works with you wearing reference points, in a hat, in a headset or stuck in your forehead, then translates your movement into the screen at a higher ratio, say you move 10º, it moves 25º on screen.  In the console, PSeye should take the same references in your face, or even use a reflective reference like track ir does, which also helps in low light conditions.

 

For distance I don't see how it would be difficult to configurate, or like someone said above too, just put the camera closer to you.
