I suppose it's possible that some people might, but I think it's much more likely that some 360 owners may pick up a PS3 now to play some of the exclusives.

hardyhar said: Oh no, you're not one of those video games store employees that tries to put every potential 360 purchaser off the console are you? If the console comes back broken or breaks soon after, why won't Microsoft take care of them? Please stop lying, or at least try and make the lies a little less obvious. |
That's just it. Why won't Microsoft take care of them? Because they are jerks!
Is that the official line from MS then, Infinity? "We refuse to fix your broken console even though it's under warranty because we're jerks."
I've heard about a couple of people getting a repair refused because the console had been opened (possibly modded, who knows?), but MS didn't extend the warranty to 3 years so that they could say no to people without any good reason. If your console hasn't been opened or tampered with and the sticker is intact, they will fix it, and if it breaks again, they'll fix it again.

VidZone’s service was extended to the PlayStation 3 video game system in some PAL territories (UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia and Ireland) on 11 June, 2009[6], allowing users to watch music videos on their PS3 or streamed to their PSP via Remote Play. The service will be expanded by another 11 countries: Belgium, The Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal and New Zealand by the end of 2009.[7] There are over 13,000 videos currently on the PlayStation 3 service, with more being added every week. The majority of videos are from artists signed to both Sony Music and the Universal Music Group.
XBL has the Video Marketplace...which will be Zune MP soon...which is the = to the PS3's VidZone....Unlike Sony...MS does not have any ties to Music Labels...So LOL....What happens to all those other artsist not signed by Sony and Universal? Oh yeah...They are on XBL.....I don't know if it's free...I have never checked it out....But I have paused and look at it's cover and tons of Artist are doing special stuff exclusively for XBL...
Play TV.....Sounds like a DVR for stuff that is allready Free...I see how this is usful if your into that..... Now...Much like you said....VidZone,Play TV are only for the PAL.....Hardly a good point for me...Guess I should get Netflix....

mmmm?
He says LIVE is better because of netflix. I say only in the US.
So as an example, I talk about vidzone that you don't have on PS3 in the US.
You say vidzone suck, and you prefer netflix.
Ok... so what? For me netflix is still unavailable on LIVE... So it's still not worth the money.
Anyway...

VidZone is shite. It can take forever to start up. The videos are low quality (lower than regular standard def TV), 16:9 videos are letterboxed and don't play in full screen, you get a bar popping up displaying ads every so often during the vid, you have to watch movie trailers in between the vids, and the search feature sucks. If you are trying to compare that to Netflix, don't bother. You may not be able to get it, but lots of people can't get VidZone, but one service allows you to stream full length movies in decent quality, ad free, while the other is an ad-ridden mess of low quality videos that don't even play in full screen.
As for the downloadable games, XBLA wins easily. Look at all of the quality titles released over the last few weeks. There's at least 1 new game added to XBLA every week, every single one of them has a demo, none of them require installing, and if a patch comes out, the size of it is so small that it downloads in seconds and you're back up and running. I've downloaded about 8 or 9 games from PSN. I've downloaded 54 from Xbox Live.
What kind of pathetic loser bothers to trade in a working console for next to nothing?
For goodness sake, the price of these consoles is so affordable that getting rid of one for such a small amount is ridiculous.
Instead, pretend you don't have a console and pick up the (other) one you want.
Now you have TWO great tastes and miss out on nothing.
... and only idiots pay list price for anything, so anyone who bitches about paying $50 for LIVE should have a dunce cap pressed firmly onto their head, then be pushed into a corner and ignored as an asshat.
Seriously, now is the time when everyone can have BOTH systems and the MOST fun.

I agree 100%. If you don't own a particular system, you're going to miss out on some great games. It seems that a proportion of the Sony crowd are intent on trying to convince people not to buy an Xbox 360 though.

Cross game chat!!! the killer feature that's worth 50$ a year!!! meh. |
Cross-game chat is a killer feature and it's free.
You get it even if you have the FREE silver account.
But you knew that right?
You guys don't understand what I meant.
I'm not at all comparing Vidzone to Netflix. Netflix being probably better (I never tried it, again, I'm french, I can't tell).
I'm just saying he gives Netflix as a good point for LIVE. It's not for me (because I can't access it).
I could also give Vidzone and PlayTV as good points for PS3. It wouldn't be for you (americans).
@Lord Flashheart : No, I didn't knew that. Only tried live at a gold live member's.

hardyhar said: Yeah, I mean they give everyone a 3 year warranty, then when you need to use it and you call them up, they just say "no", so those people then go out and buy a PS3 instead. I'm sure that happens constantly when you live in a dream world. The RROD is covered for 3 years. If you haven't tampered with your console and the seal/sticker is intact, they'll fix it for free. Shinsa claims that his friend got a RROD after a year and a bit and the guy called MS to arrange a repair, but they just said "no". On what grounds did they say no? If the PS3 is that good, people wouldn't need to make up stories and constantly dig up every little bit of dirt on MS in order to try and put people off buying an Xbox 360. The PS3 should sell on its own merits. Despite being quite sad, it's a sign of desperation on the part of the person doing the posting when they do that, a bit like some sleazy election campaign tactic, and I personally find that it puts me off the product rather than having the effect the poster intended. |
dude take it easy, the topic was about people trading in there xbox for a ps3
my friends 360 broke and they wont replace it so now he's getting a ps3
you dont have to believe anything that i've told you, its my fact so take it and go
