I find the talk about what console was better, NES or PS ( or PS2 ), very interesting.
I see this is about marketshare and numbers but i think the NES had a lot tougher road than the PS2, and even the PS1.
In 1985 Nintendo could not get the NES into stores. Nintendo had to send people to the big stores and set up there own displays and sell there stuff themselves. They also had to agree to buy back any unsold NES's, at least in the begining. Thats thanks to Atari. Atari single handedly destroyed the video game business. By the time Nintendo wanted to bring the NES to America the people here saw video games as trash and a fad.
The PS1 had the road paved for them by the NES, SNES and even the Genisis. And the PS2 had all these advantages and the PS1 success.
I find the Marketshare thing here you guys are talking about very interesting. I know this dosent consern that but just something to think about.
