Forums - Gaming Discussion - Does anyone know if 3D glasses technology will be available for HD consoles

Lets just hope this happens next gen.

Apparently this can be done already using this technology - http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/televisions/rear-projection/dlps-dualview-technology

I have to find out how!!!!

I have the TV, 2 Xbox systems and 2 copies of Halo 3...I'll get these glasses if I figure out how to make it work for 2 players on one screen.

I tried the Nvidia ones yeah... Played a little bit of FEAR and damn dude...it is quite good. Images don't jump out like you think they would..but you get amazing depth perception.

Natal + 3D glasses + 60inch TV = HUGE Win

I can't believe it's already out and working! Why havent I heard more about this?

So does it feel glitchy in some ways? For example, are there shades around the character models or they have like double copies? Do all colors have a green/red glow? Flickering? etc

Did your friend have a strong PC? and what about his moniter, was it a TV LCD or a computer monitor?

Didnt Sony demo Gran Turismo 5 and Motorstorm running in 3D at some tech show?

Yah, you need a monster PC...he has 2 videocards, SLI setup...

The video is very good, some textues may be off but only people taht post Xbox vs PS3 screenshots would notice this.

I personally don't think I'd go with the nividia glasses because:

1. I have an ATI videocard :)

2. Nvidia glasses are overpriced (amazing game support)

3. They don't officially support samsung DLP TVs. They say..."it should work...but if it doesn't don't bother us"

It really depends what tv and video card you have...

For me, this is the only way  - http://www.tridef.com/home.html

Supports Samsung exclusively (was made for samsung DLPs), 199 for 2 sets of glasses, Converts 2D movies in to 3d (nvidia one doesnt) and game support lsit is almost as good as nvidia's - http://www.tridef.com/ignition/3d-games.html

I checked this and you are right...howeve they were doing it using 2 PS3 and 2 copies of the game...lol. I'd still take that over nothing...for gods sake someone give me a consumer product I can buy!

I freaking want this tomorrow.

How will people wear this 3D glasses over thei regular eyeglasses if they use it?

that's racist!!!

"Find out, the Power of 3D depth gaming*"

*If you don't use glasses you nerdz"!!!

I still have a hard time to melt that 3D tech is already here! I never even read an article about this in PC Gamer paper magazine, nothing on Gamespot/Gametrailers and other sites I visit regularly and no one but you desolitute has talked about this exciting tech here on VGC (well, NJ5 posted the news about the upcoming Nvidia glasses some 9 months ago). It's strange.

Damn it, I cant watch a demo of it anywhere. For natural reasons u cant watch it on a trailer on the internet, and I dont no any friends who have this. I wonder If I dare to take the chance and just order a pair and potentially waste $199.

And that list of games doesn't have Oblivion... but I refuse to buy anything from Nvidia.
