I don't think any rational Sony fan believes that Sony did every single thing first, and I'm sure any rational person, Sony fan or not, don't think that Sony doesn't have a SINGLE unique idea, or at least unique twist on a idea (which is how ideas evolve and IMPROVE, due to COMPETITION).
I mean, I don't like it when companies just do a blatant rip off and sell it at a lower price, but I don't think we want to see only Nintendo using analog sticks do we? In fact, do we want only Nintendo to be able to use the D-Pad, and Right handed buttons (unless, since I wasn't born, Atari used a D-Pad before Nintendo)?
If it's a good idea, that benefits the customer, I think it only benefits the consumer for more companies to adopt it. Of course, they have to stay out of the bounds of just blatant carbon copies, and copyright infringement, but as long as they do that, power to the consumers, free market, and the process of good ideas staying and being passed down, and bad ones being replaced and phased out.
