Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rogue Leader = Frustrating

I have all Golds legit :P

Same here.  It's a tough game, but I like challenging games (as long as they are fair).  RSII is one of my favorite games ever, and definitely holds up well (was just playing some two-player RSII via RSIII a few weeks ago, still awesome).

Ok, i got everything this afternoon that i possibly could (everything except the Nighttime Academy tech upgrade. I didn't feel like modding the Wii's internal clock just for that), and finally got a minimum Bronze on all missions (hard part was the final mission, only because losing a life there absolutely kills you on extra time)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

That game is a whole new level of frustrating... and yes, the star destroyers suck. Not to mention the death star level.

i absolutely love fighting star destroyers, so damn fun. Flying around in an x-wing taking out the areas you need while shooting tie-fighters and avoiding deck lazers with barrel rolls is so damn fun.

man was the 3rd game the best because of the co-op. Didn't like the 3rd single player campaign as much, but still fun

I didn't find the last level particularly tough... at least not to complete, I haven't managed Gold on it.

I can't remember exactly, but I think I have about half golds, and all but 1 of the rest in silver.... I think my Bronze is on the level called "Maw" or something.

-------

On RS3 though... the super-star destroyer level is a bitch, at least without cheating anyway.... I much prefer doing it with the old A-wing look-a-like that has the sonic boom weapon, which is f-king awesome.

Played it again.

Battle of Endor is actually not that hard.

Imperial levels (I only have the first one, I need 18 more points for the Yavin level. But I forgot how you get points :P) are annoying though.

I'm pretty sure you earn points by getting medals.  That would mean you need to start turning those silver medals into golds. :P

I was able to get all gold medals legit in the first Rogue Squadron, but Rogue Leader was tough as balls... in fact now that I think about it, I think there were some missions where I wasn't even able to get a silver medal!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

i find that when you chose to repeat rogue leader after some time the difficulty of it all increases. the crafts feel more stiff, everything becomes harder to doge, you can only take like 3 hits etc etc.

but thats the joy of gaming... the challenge!

i remember that i couldnt get all gold legit, especially on some of the bonus missions.

Both the original Rogue Squadron on N64 and the third game Rebel Strike I liked a lot better than Rogue Leader.

I felt the weapons in Rogue Leader didn't have enough control to them, you would aim perfect and shoot, yet it was random if you hit or miss.

That's why getting the homing upgrades is so important :P

With 20 Advanced Homing Cluster Missiles, the Vader missions become a cakewalk.
