notice that he stated nintendo 64 to ps2,not to ps1, so apparently sony believed the ps2 was competing with the 64,

I hadn't caught that... that simply makes him look like a fool who doesn't know what he's talking about.

I think he meant that they switched to ps2 instead of the gamecube. Which is true for a lot of the n64 users.

You are probably right on that but having it say PS2 versus N64 people can take that the wrong way.  He completely misworded his statement so people will think something different.  You probably would do a better job than this guy.

Even if that was what he meant... what relevance would that have for the current generation?

If you look back at previous lifecycles, like PS2 versus N64 [sic], we have lots of data that suggests that lots of people bought into N64 as their entry level gaming device, and were happy to upgrade to a more powerful machine later in the lifecycle when the price point was right for them.

Dear Wii owners,

Don't hate; graduate!

Last I checked N64 and PS2 were in different gaming generations. So naturally, users would shift from one gen to the next.

Same could be said now for PS2 to Wii, (or 360 or PS3 for that matter).

Stupid people make stupid quotes.

Exactly.

And why are they even worried about Wii owners "upgrading" when they can't even get PS2 owners to buy a PS3.

Still in the denial stage?
That's a long time (2 years) to be in denial. Do they also think their grandmas are still alive?

Sony (2006) : PS2 owners will become PS3 owners.
Sony (2009) : Wii owners wiil become PS3 owners.

Ohh, wait....

If I owned a time machine, I definitely would have upgraded to a PS2 from a N64.
