How would the greatest RPG look like for you if it had to have twelve things
you liked before they decided to release it?

1: Xenogears "Fighting" system ( Gears and human)

2: Final fantasy 7 "magic" system ( Materia)

3: Final Fantasy 6 summoning Magic ( Espers)

4: "Overworld" aka FF4,6,7 etc etc ( I hate linear ala Final Fantasy 10. forward, forward, insert cordinates )

5: "Aircraft" aka FF6,7,8,9, Xenogears etc etc.

6: Lovestory like Xenogears and Final Fantasy 8 and Final Fantasy 10 ( sorry I am one damn sucker for love stories)

7: Did I'm a say sucker for love stories?? )

8: Random battles (in overworld view, random... otherwise visible enemies)

9: No F-ing fixed levels( I actually love to "grind" levels for a few hours if the boss is too hard)

10: Great music. ( Man with the machinegun-FF8, One winged Angel-FF7, You are not alone-FF9, Jecht battle theme-FFX, Kefka final battle theme-FF6, Fuse-Xenogears, Terra theme for overworld- FF6, intro theme-FF8 ) etc etc

11: Atleased 40-45 hours gameplay for the main story.

12: It need to be TURNBASED!!!11!! ( damn I hate one button smashing, no for good loosers who can't think straight, aka I have not beaten a game witout smashing one button).

So what's yours???

( PS I know I forgot several games like Lufia 1-2, Chrono trigger or other games that are not turnbased etc etc Before the PS1 era )

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing (mostly)

strange, all the games you listed are squaresoft games.

my idea of the perfect RPG is a bastard child of FF9, skies of arcadia, chrono trigger and xenogears.

Well they used to created the best RPG's ever but since year 2001 I haven't played a game from them that are good enough to fit my top 12

The world as big as Oblivions and the graphics like Uncharted 2, and the physics like Killzone 2. Online similar to Fables, and story similar to Final Fantasy VII's. And sound effects like Dead Space. And cut scenes like Metal Gear Solid 4
