Great...so Miyamoto influenced Sony and MS with his motion controls invention.

How about he takes their influence on online play, mature games and console processing power next gen.

I don't think the man who is lauded as the greatest game designer of all time needs to start adding boobies to your  fantasy-angst games, just so that a few teens will think he's cool.

And online isn't the be-all-end-all of gaming. It's what you do when the core single player game isn't compelling enough to play it on it's own.

No one said anything about bouncing boobs. Hes been making the same brand of fantasy gaming for decades now. And while there is nothing wrong with it, it wouldn't hurt to accept an influence here or there form the industry.

Making a game where you are given a choice to save or kill princess Zelda would be splendid. Or you can marry her and have babies... Fable showed us its possible.

OH NO!!!PLEASE NO!!!...Miyamoto san, whatever you do!!! do not enter to this website and read this topic.

Why not? canue you hate change as much as the hardcore gamers? or because you dont want your kids to play a zelda like that? One is a valid reason...and one is being stupid.

Sony announces an accessory for a motion technology they introduced 7 years ago and they are copying Nintendo? Interesting.

The creation, development and implementation of a new product, process or service, with the aim of improving efficiency, effectiveness or competitive advantage. Innovation may apply to products, services, manufacturing processes, managerial processes or the design of an organisation. ...

A Patent is not created nor implemented and doesn't prove development and so yea copied.

The device that was released 7 years(really 5 years) ago was the EyeToy.  The accessory I was referring to was the wand/dildo.

Let me rewrite my post...

Sony announces a dildo/wand for the EyeToy that they released 5 years ago and they are copying Ninetendo?  Interesting.

Also, thanks for the definition of a patent.  There are 450,000 words in the english language.  I may be using you as a resource in the future.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

@dbot

No problem I'll keep my words small and sweet for you.

By the by the wand wasn't released 5 years ago, so yea still copied.

(Giggling inside that I took you life.)

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

I dont hate change, i applaued it.

Lets put it this way. We saw Miyamoto-san a hundred times in previous E3s playing games like Killzone 2 and Gears of War. He knows what his fellow developers are doing. He chose not going through that path. Instead, he creates his own path, and now his fellow developers follow him, as we saw in the conferences of Sony and Microsoft.

I Guess what i am trying to say here is that Miyamoto-san as a developer, he has his way for doing things, and i am glad with his work. I dont need a pregnant Zelda or Peach, or whatever. If that what you can do in Fable, then good for that game.

You say that but the path he goes down hasn't changed much since the NES days. Technology and control mechanism has changed, hence changing the experience but the idea behind the experience hasn't changed.

I am not saying he needs to change Zelda, Mario or anything...but it would be nice to see his take on a sandbox environment.

Good point.

We can't say Sony and MS are copying Nintendo until they actually decide to support their motion controls with software.

Well, i must say I Prefer Sony / Microsoft's approach ie Motion controls aren't a core part of the overall experience , just more of an optional add on. That's just me tho.

You've pretty much nailed the traditional gamer on the head, it shows a major difference between Nintendo and Sony/Microsoft, and why these new motion cameras may do absolutely nothing to the Wii.

When Nintendo designed the Wiimote + Nunchuck combo, that was their intent, to replace the traditional dual-analog-mass-of-buttons controller with something more intuitive; which is why the classic controller is a peripheral, used only for games explicitly built ot use it (like many VC games), and not packaged in with the Wii.  With the Wii leading sales, it suggests that a lot of people really don't like the traditional gamepads, and wanted something else.

If Sony and Microsoft want to compete against the Wii, then their camera controllers have to be good enough that they could replace the traditional gamepad; a peripheral motion sensing device that's only good for camera games cannot replace the dual-analog-mass-of-buttons controller, and people who don't like that controller will never want a 360 or PS3, regardless of intuitive the camera is.

a good response Miyamoto.

I love how Nintendo always has classy responses. Sony and MS should learn from this.
