And to think they could really reinvent the gameplay with the wii remote, using the nunchuck for movement and the remote for passing and shoots. You could use the same swing motion as you use in tennis for it.

I don't like the wii, but I have to admit that the devs are really lazy when it concerns it's possibilities.

I'm not sure if i misunderstood your post, but they have already done this. PES 09 was rated much better on the Wii than on the HD systems.

I was thinking that the post might have been sarcastic, but I have decided  it was just someone that didn't know much about the Wii. The 'I don't like it' comment gives it away. This tends to mean I haven't played many games on it (at least the good ones0

To be fair to Konami, they have shipped in excess of a million of PES08 on Wii. PES09 will probably get somewhere up 750,000 by the time of 2010 release. I personally think they could just skip 2010 and release 2011 along with the others.

Yes.

www.spacemag.org - contribute your stuff... satire, comics, ideas, debate, stupidy stupid etc.

Well, Ive played pes for a long time and think the normal controls are better, but thats just me and some people I know.

And another company that treats the Wii like a third rate product. I mean come on, why shoot yourself on the foot by releasing the game like 8 months later? Who the f*** will be interested if the season is alreaady finishing and every other version has been launched already?

They never learn, zero respect for these companies.

Well, my only oportunity to wacth the gameplay was in game stores and I was not impressed. I mean you pointed were the ball had to go wasn´t it, if I not mistaken. I can't really tell. But what I´m proposing is a cinematic gameplay were your control over the ball is improved by the wii remote. I don´t know if they did that. If it was what they did, I´m sorry, I´ve got the wrong impression.

BTW, I´ve got a Wii. So I´m entitled to a opinion about it. While i´ve admire it for being a comercial success, I don´t like the way the remote works. The lag is really big and the control you have is not very acurate. Maybe the wii plus will fix that. It´s a way to convince my fiance to play videogames though and this is always good.

@blackstar - considering how many game companies are losing money hand over fist and shutting down recently... No. No we don't have to assume that these companies know what's best for them at all.

Besides, a simultaneous platform releases isn't really asking too much.

well , I don't know but i don't think it's just that simple.

also most companies are losing money not just gaming companies and the big ones are struggling to survive , i don't think making games for the wii version is the answer here, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I don't see why nobody is saying that it is a good thing that they work on the PS360 versions to make them actually good, rather than sitting back and eating up the 2m sales from the PS3 version, despite it being fundamentally the same game as PES 4 (this will be PES 9). They need to concentrate on getting the PS2 and PS3 versions right, as they will be the biggest sellers, and hopefully they will this year. I own both FIFA and PES, and it is certainly tight.

I think they should skip the 2010 Wii game, and then launch simultaneously in 2011. They had to delay the Wii version originally to make sure that it was not just a crap port, which meant their timings were out of sync, and now they get masses of flak because they tried to make a unique Wii version. Do you really want them to have to release the same game 6 months later with updated teams?

If you have lag with the IR pointer make sure that your TV is set to "gaming mode", if it has one. I wondered about this lag that people were talking about because i play my Wii on a HD CRT TV, until one day i played Wii on my friend's Bravia. I could not believe it and noticed the difference on the Wii menu as soon as i touched the control. I don't know how on earth he had been able to play games like that on his Wii for over a year, he just thought that's the way the controller worked.

u hate capcom and konami , u always hate on capcom and i love both.

how about Nintendo just making deals with them to release the game earlier or at the same time with the other versions? can't they do that?

FIFA 09 is the best football game in the world. I expect FIFA10 to win again...
