I've been working in the lab for 7 months straight, and I've discovered a new compound. I call it Hypocrisy, named after the Greek God Hippocratus.

Hopefully no one else had discovered it yet.

Did the Greek God Hippocratus make the hippos?

No, and there is no Greek God named Hippocratus. Frankly, I'm more like the father of medicine Hippocrates.

.........did the medicine Hippocrates create the hippos?

If you mean love medicine, then yes!

She has gotten so much press coverage and so much financial benefit from this "scandal" that it isn't even funny. If anyone thinks she is a victim here, especially considering she wasn't even winning the competition by the time the question was asked, you are fooling yourself. Can you even tell me who actually won the competition? She has benefited from this to an exponential degree.

She didn't create the scandal. If it wasn't for Perez Hilton drumming it up, no one would have noticed.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

That’s not the point, and I don’t really care about her, or the particular issue.

I care that Obama and someone else have the exact same stance on something, and no one seems to care that Obama has this stance, yet they want to run the other person out of town for it.

It’s the issue I have more than anything with this last election. You want to elect a liberal to run the country, fine. Elect Hillary. She, in every category conceivable had more experience, knowledge, and judgment then Obama… yet no one seemed to care. “It’s Obama, and we love him regardless” seemed to be the message of the election.

Oh, and for those that have never seen it, here is the Obama video.

Dude, I know you disagree about Obama's policies on the financial market, and possibly other areas, but please...drop it before you like a typical player hater.

No one talking about Obama's stance on gay marriage. Ooooohhhh...whoop-de-fucking-doo. I have heard all the reasons...the media goes ga-ga over Obama, Obama is a dictator-in-training, Obama this, Obama that....it really is quite pathetic. Just take all the fanboy rant from either Sony, Microsoft and/or Nintendo's camp and it doesn't even equal to the bullshit put on this.

Until Obama's policies actually harm and/or kill people for questionable reasons, any whining right now is just that...whining.

And to give you a simple reason as to why she is being blamed and not Obama? Miss California is an easier target to take down, plain and simple.

Well his Iraq Policy has seen the deaths in iraq baloon... also his bombing policys in afghanistan have led to numerous civilian deaths and injuries to the point of where it's gotten so bad in recent months they had to suspend them and sack the general in charge in a lameduck move.

It's not that the media is protecting him though.  It's that we've got issues now so they don't care to focus on that.

Well that and the same people were the people voting for Obama.  The strong Obama vote is often cited for the reason Prop 8 passed in California.

So enlighten me on what the real reason is then. That’s all I am asking for. Why is it ok to do this sort of thing?

As for that last line, Obama has chosen to keep the war going, and put more troops in Iraq. Every death there falls on his shoulders. The time for blaming the past is over.

I know where this is going, good sir, and I find it apprehensive, and quite frankly childish yet intellectually done. Instead of ranting like a baby of how Obama is a bad president, he doesn't deserve to hold the highest office, etc., we are instead going to look on his stand on gay marriage (particularly the one made when the debates were going on) and compare it with a beauty pageant contestant and ask why is she being blamed for being prejudice and not the President.

The first thing, of course, is why should I care? We have a financial meltdown to take care, housing mortgage upheaval, medical care to fix, two wars being fought, and even pirates to deal with and you want to argue on why no one is talking about Obama on gay marriage? That alone tells me that you are nitpicking here.

And the second thing is, knowing your history on Obama and what you just said, I already know that you don't really care about the topic of gay marriage, just why he isn't being blamed for his stance on it. It just seems to be that you created another thread about how the media just adores Obama and never finds fault in him, but the mighty you have finally figured out a flaw!

Congratulations good sir! You figured out that Obama is human after all and not the second coming! I apologize for my heavy and obtuse usage of sarcasm here, but don't you think it is quite obvious? Since when did a President not say something in order to become elected, despite it being questionable? This is why I stopped believing in politicians until they provide something that I can count on. Believe me, using Obama's stance on gay marriage and the lack of media attention in order to show that Obama has either power over the media, the "liberal" media lack of attentiveness over "key issues" regarding this new administration, or any other possible hoax stories is as terrible and laughable as the government planning the 9/11 attacks; whether true or not it is true, it doesn't help your case right now.

Oh and about your last line on "Obama has chosen to keep the war going, and put more troops in Iraq. Every death there falls on his shoulders. The time for blaming the past is over," is that your final answer? I mean, really? So you would rather have him remove ALL troops from Iraq at once in order to abide by his promise to end the war, despite being a reckless move by Obama and thus creating more enemies than at the start of the war, just so when it crashes and fails as it should, you can say he is a bad President? "Damned if you do, damned if you don't."

I hate this war just as much as anybody else...maybe even more. I hate the fact that my Muslim brothers and sisters are dying, all for a cause that proved to be naught. But if the U.S. decides to up and leave Iraq to its own, like they did with Afghanistan against the Soviets, then we will have a bigger threat in the long run, just like Al Qaeda...

Sry for the rant.

Why so angry? I just asked a question.

As for the war, it’s the UN’s responsibility to handle these sorts of things, not ours. I have no problem with the president pulling out with a coordinated effort of UN troops moving in.

Also, if you knew it was not a good idea to leave, I hope you didn’t vote for a man who either bold face lied to you about leaving day one, or was too stupid to know better. Hillary (and every other person running for office), had a much better plan.

Ok Mafoo. I'll try to answer your question. The reason it's okay for Obama and not MC is because the people who got so pissed at MC are so amazingly stupid that they think its different for Obama. Simple.

So true.

I don't know what obama's policies are concerning Iraq, but my brother-in-law is going back - his third time - to iraq, and more soldiers will be going.

Thanks to an overly-sensitive media hound, this mediocre beauty queen is getting more attention than she ever would otherwise. I do not condone feeding into it.

For the first bolded part, both were surprisingly done during the Bush administration, as you kinda forgot to add...the bombing was cited by Pakistani news organizations while Obama and McCain were campaigning for Presidency late last year, but the media again seems to miss that in favor of covering the potential Presidents (I found out through my Pakistani news channel through the Dish). You may say that blaming the past does not help, and I agree with that. What I am saying is that two extreme choices (One choice for bombing and killing people, the other being a complete disengagement from the area) does not fix anything or make a complete wash. It is like chemistry; you don't put two completely opposite and volatile chemicals to create a neutral substance...things will blow up in your face. If you add a less volatile yet still opposite chemical to a completely volatile substance (removing troops slowly from the war and not completely removing them at once), things take more time but are less violent.

So yes, I agree that the media in general do not seem to realize that they have a job to do. Instead of covering real news, they seem to be acting like the Papparazi instead...

And as for the second bolded part, people who vote for Obama does not equal to a pure, clean heart.  There are strong, religious African American block as well as a strong, religious white block. They may vote differently, but they both agree on Prop 8, hence why it was passed in California of all places.

Lol sorry about appearing angry...did not really feel angry but I didn't proof-read my answer properly so I looked like a raving lunatic. My bad. But the message is all the same.

For the black bold part, it is a bit naive to think that the U.S. may be responsible for the war, but it is the responsibility of the U.N. to clean up the mess. Nobody believes that a child should cause trouble and the parent should clean up everything. No I believe that the U.S. went into this war by themselves (along with a few allies) and in order to lead the world, they must lead by example and have to put the majority of help in cleaning up the mess, with the UN coming in slowly. (I have a feeling that I said the same thing you did, but with more emphasis on the U.S. doing something as well).

And about the red bolded part, none of the politicians said the right answer...they said what they thought will get them voted into office. What did Hillary say that convinced you she knew what to do? Get them out on day one? What a load of bull. We all know that isn't possible. We also know that if that happened, everyone in Iraq will feel betrayed. They will say "Oh great. They come in for no other reason other than on a lie, they bomb the hell out of us, destroyed houses, killed civilians, help create a void filled by insurgents...and guess what? More terrorists exist than ever before! Thanks a lot." It will be just like Afghanistan during the Cold War. I heard the debate. Obama said he will get them out slowly, based on what the situation is. As much as it hurts me, it is better than the other choices...
