Forums - PC Discussion - Which console goes well with a gaming PC?

Well if you've never owned a console before, I'd recommend the Wii since it has cheap oldschool games from 9 different consoles you missed out on, as well as old arcade games, and new Wii-only motion controlled games. And those are just the cheap downloadable games. And when comparing libraries of new games, the Wii will be the exact opposite of a PC, whereas a 360 or PS3 will only be a little different from a PC.

Just make a list of the non-PC games on each system and pick the ones that are most appealing to you.

Keep in mind:
PS3: More expensive, but free online play. Lots of great non-PC exclusives coming this year. Great Blu-Ray player
360: Hardware quality should not be a issue anymore. But still a yearly fee for online. Netflix streaming, if you are a netflix & XBLive Gold member.
Wii: Many great unique games, but graphics are not as good as what you are used to on the PC. Probably the only console you girlfriend will play with you.

PS3 doesn't have many good exclusives. And Blu-Ray is a non-factor since Digital Distribution is growing at a fast pace on PC.

As for Xbox 360, PC already has Netflix, so there's almost no reason to choose a 360 as a second addition to your PC.

Wii is the best choice if you're a PC gamer, the experience is so different on Wii.

shio, GTFO. The PS3 has a good amount of exclusives that arent on the PC. Look at the PSN store for crying out loud.

I can also make you a second PC fo thre price of a PS3....

I know... and you can have a pretty darn good system upgrade for the cost of the Wii so why buy a console at all excpet for their offerings.

Cause the PC doesn't have motion controls while it has far better games thn the PS, which ar directly comparable most of the time.

Actually, on second thought OP, a ps2 would probably be a fantastic choice. Only $100 new and you have access to the immense ps1/ps2 game libraries. Beats the pants off any current gen console for exclusives and range of high quality titles.

Demon's Souls Official Thread  | Currently playing: Left 4 Dead 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Magicka

depends on games you like and how much of a graphics whore you are

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

I'm a PC/PS3/Wii owner. its a pretty good mix, besides halo the big titles on 360 get a PC release, and in some cases (Mass Effect) the PC version is superior in more then just the graphical department. Ps3 gets some interesting titles (import jrpgs are starting to float around, GT5, Lbp) and wii has mario kart and smash bros so thats always a win there.

I'd probably go with a ps3. I couldn't imagine gaming this gen without a ps3. PC gaming seems very over-rated to me - alot of the 360/ps3 games get a delayed release on pc, and then many game themselves are often far better suited to consoles. PC still has its shooters though, that about it lol

Being a 55% pc and 45% console. I would suggest the Wii followed by the PS3. No matter how you look at it not having any console will be some games you won't end up playing. But buy getting a Wii you get an entirly different library than what the PC offers. 360 is the worst since it's list is closest to being that of a PC. While PS3 is some what in the middle. It has a few good platformers, but it's largest set of games seem to be third or first person games. Which you will find in spades on the PC.

The Wii is the most stand out from PC game console

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I have PC, PS3 and Wii and feel that works nicely. You will miss some very good exclusives on 360 (well, they do seem to come to PC eventually but MS are making signs their going to keep more on the console) - but PS3 has more exclusives that will never hit a PC as does Wii IMHO so if you are going to game on a PC, and play titles like Fallout 3 and Mirrors Edge on that, then I'd go for that combo.

I'm assuming from your post that you don't see having both PS3/360 as a viable choice - otherwise you could have all four!

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

wow seriously thanks for all the replies..i didn't expect 4 pages for me the new guy :D..

But now i'm quite stuck between ps3 and wii TBH lol...

Both are good choices.  Just pick the one with the games you would rather play.
